The World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) is hosting the inaugural WADEM Disaster Medicine Summer School from 3-5 July 2026 in San Marino. The international event brings together students, young professionals, experts, and leading organizations to strengthen education, collaboration, and innovation in disaster and emergency medicine.
cosinuss° is excited to participate in this pioneering event and contribute insights from years of experience in mobile patient monitoring for demanding operational environments.

Advancing disaster medicine education and innovation

The WADEM Disaster Medicine Summer School is designed to address an important need in disaster medicine education by providing early-career professionals with an intensive, practical learning experience. Highly motivated students and young professionals from around the world will come together to learn from internationally recognized experts and gain valuable insights into current challenges and solutions in disaster and emergency healthcare.
At the same time, the EUROMED PROTECT-NET – Euro-Mediterranean Forum for Disaster Risk Governance, Health Preparedness, and Networking Advancement – will bring together senior representatives, directors of specialized centres, and international experts. This creates a unique platform connecting emerging talent with experienced decision-makers and key stakeholders in disaster medicine.

Ultralight and mobile patient monitoring for challenging environments

During the event we will present our improved mobile patient monitoring system to the participants. The solution combines the 8.6 g lightweight in-ear sensor with the mobile application cosinuss° Health – ideal for demanding environments.
The monitoring technology is already successfully used in mountain, air, and offshore rescue operations, Prolonged Field Care, as well as special operations. We look forward to discussing the latest developments with participants, sharing the experiences of users with our technology to date, presenting the wide range of possible applications, and exploring the potential and operational capabilities in disaster medicine.
