The International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR) and the Austrian Mountain Rescue Service (ÖBRD) invite mountain rescue professionals from around the world to the ICAR Congress in Innsbruck, Austria, from October 6–11, 2026. Together with corpuls, cosinuss° will once again be exhibiting at the congress, presenting the latest developments in our ultralight, mobile patient monitoring technology for alpine and remote rescue operations.
Global expertise meets alpine practice
The ICAR 2026 Congress brings together mountain rescue professionals, medical specialists, technical experts, and representatives of alpine organisations from around the world. Over the course of one week, participants will exchange knowledge, discover new technologies, and take part in practical workshops and outdoor demonstrations, all with the shared goal of advancing safety and improving rescue operations in alpine and remote environments.
Ultralight & mobile patient monitoring – proven in alpine terrain
As ICAR-members, we are happy to present the improvements in our mobile patient monitoring system to the participants at the ICAR Congress 2026. The solution is based on the corpuls auryx in-ear sensor, which weighs just 8.6 g, and the corpuls auryx App. The solution can be used to reliably monitor three important vital parameters – SpO2, body temperature, and pulse rate – as well as the PPG curve, perfusion and quality indices at any time. Our monitoring technology has already proven its practicality many times over in the fields of air and mountain rescue, prolonged field care, special forces, offshore operations, and various remote monitoring projects. We look forward to presenting the wide applicability of our technology, especially in mountain rescue.

The International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR) aims to promote the global exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices in mountain rescue. With 123 member organizations in 41 countries, ICAR provides a platform for continuously improving the safety and effectiveness of rescue operations. Central to the exchange and further development of mountain rescue is the annual ICAR Congress, supplemented by joint research projects and international cooperation.
The Austrian Mountain Rescue Service (ÖBRD) is the world’s largest mountain rescue organization, with more than 13,000 volunteer rescuers responding to over 10,000 missions annually. As Austria’s national mountain rescue authority, it coordinates alpine rescue operations, training, and international cooperation, and represents the country within ICAR.
