Date: 9-13 June 2026
Location: Hamburg, Germany
From 9 to 13 June 2026, the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), in conjunction with the German Society for Emergency Medicine (DGINA), will host the 25th International Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICEM 2026). The conference will bring together the global emergency medicine community to celebrate the field and the professionals shaping its future. Dr. Johannes Kreuzer, CEO of cosinuss°, together with our colleagues from corpuls, will be on site to present “Ear Sensor Technology for Emergency and Operational Medicine”.
Collaboration, innovation, and global solidarity
Under the theme #wetogetherforward, ICEM 2026 invites participants to join a movement driven by collaboration, innovation, and global solidarity. The conference highlights how progress in emergency medicine is achieved through shared experiences, collective effort, and mutual support.
Over five days, the program will explore the evolving landscape of emergency care — from cutting-edge technologies and global health challenges to education, equity, and sustainability. State-of-the-art science, hands-on workshops, and forward-looking discussions will be presented in an environment designed to foster connection and community.
Monitoring beyond limits – Ear sensor technology for emergency and operational medicine
The in-ear sensor, c-med° alpha (soon becoming corpuls auryx) enables continuous, minimally obtrusive monitoring of vital signs from within the ear canal. In his presentation, Dr. Johannes Kreuzer will showcase real-world use cases across prehospital and in-hospital emergency care, including scene monitoring, triage, transport, and monitoring in extreme environments. The talk will also summarize completed and ongoing studies demonstrating accuracy, robustness, and reliable measurement of pulse rate, body temperature and oxygen saturation. In addition, integration pathways with ambulance equipment and telemedicine workflows, practical implementation considerations for emergency teams and hospitals, and advantages over conventional monitoring approaches will be discussed.
