Date: April 27 – May 1, 2026
Location: Raleigh Convention Center, Raleigh North Carolina USA

From April 27 to May 1, the Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA) invites experts from prehospital, tactical, wilderness, austere, disaster, and deployed medicine to its annual conference. This year’s SOMA Scientific Assembly is held under the theme “Medical Mobility Empowering SOF Effectiveness.” We are excited to be part of the event once again and to engage with participants about the possibilities of improving medical mobility.

Medical Mobility Empowering SOF Effectiveness

SOMA 2026 offers a unique platform for military and civilian medical professionals, academia, and industry partners from across the globe to connect and exchange ideas. As the world’s largest gathering of Special Operations Forces (SOF) medical providers, it brings together U.S. and international military personnel, domestic tactical law enforcement, and tactical EMS professionals. The program features hands-on training labs, parallel track sessions, as well as scientific podium and poster presentations. In parallel with the scientific assembly, an exhibition showcases industry solutions, enabling direct dialogue with participants on the most relevant and pressing topics in the field.

European solution: Ultralight mobile patient monitoring inside the ear canal

At the accompanying exhibition, we will showcase our MDR certified European solution for a compact, ultralight mobile vital signs monitoring system, which is currently marketed and used in Europe. The pocket-sized solution delivers multiple vital signs, even in challenging environments. The 5.5 cm, 8.6 grams in-ear sensor c-med° alpha, in combination with the cosinuss° smartphone application, enables tracking of pulse rate, body temperature and oxygen saturation as well as parameters like the PPG curve, perfusion and quality index and can be also used during hypothermia. We look forward to discussing how this technology can enhance tactical medical care and support healthcare professionals in remote and austere environments.

About Special Operations Medical Association

Founded in 1987, the Special Operations Medical Association (SOMA) is dedicated to advancing the art and science of special operations medical care. Through educational programs, professional development initiatives, and its official publication, the Journal of Special Operations Medicine (JSOM), SOMA fosters innovation and collaboration among medical providers in military, law enforcement, and emergency response fields. The annual Scientific Assembly, along with Mini-SOMA Conferences, serves as a key platform for learning and discussion on the latest in unconventional medicine.
