The Crisis Prevention Symposium on health-related civil protection will take place in Erfurt from October 15 to 16. This year, the focus will be on medical CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) hazard prevention as part of overall defense. Experts from industry, science and politics will come together to discuss the latest developments. We look forward to being there and presenting our mobile, ultralightweight solution for patient monitoring as part of the industry exhibition.
Medical CBRN emergency response – focus on protecting the population
Medical CBRN emergency response has long since ceased to be a purely military issue. It is a central component of civilian civil protection and plays a decisive role in protecting the health of the population in an emergency. This year’s CP Symposium is dedicated to precisely this topic.
In addition to the introductory keynote speech by Surgeon General Dr. Bruno Most, the two-day event will feature a number of high-calibre presentations from industry and science. These will provide insights into current developments and research priorities in the field of medical CBRN emergency response. The symposium will be accompanied by a full-day industry exhibition, which will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas with technology providers of innovative solutions.
Ultralight and mobile patient monitoring
We are looking forward to presenting our system for mobile patient monitoring to the participants of the symposium as part of the accompanying industry exhibition. The solution is based on the 8.6 g ultralight in-ear sensor c-med° alpha and the mobile application cosinuss° Health. The monitoring technology is already being used successfully in mountain, air and offshore rescue operations as well as by some special units (see references). The first promising insights into the potential of this system in the context of CBRN hazards were gained during simulation training as part of the ESCORT project (see “VUB CBRNe Simulation Exercise”).
We are looking forward to presenting the many possible applications of this technology and discussing potentials and application scenarios with the participants.
