The Emilia-Romagna Mountain Rescue Service (Corpo Nazionale Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico, CNSAS) is organizing the second edition of the Summer Mountain Rescue Course (SMRC) in Castelnovo né Monti from September 19 to 21, 2025, a practical training course for technicians and medical personnel from regional services. The event offers the opportunity to work together in a practical setting, train rescue scenarios, and jointly develop solutions for operations in rough terrain. We are happy to equip participants with the mobile monitoring solution of cosinuss°.

Practical training for technicians and medical staff

A key feature of the CNSAS is the ability to deploy medical personnel—doctors and nurses—directly in rough terrain. At the SMRC, particular emphasis is placed on synergy between all those involved on site and on strengthening skills in practical rescue scenarios. Participants train in simulated rescue scenarios with a medium to high degree of realism. The scenarios and training sessions are led by regional technical and medical instructors and supported by national instructors from SNaTE and SNaMed to ensure a realistic and safe learning environment.

Ultralight and mobile patient monitoring

We are happy to make our mobile patient monitoring system available to course participants. The solution is based on the ultralight c-med° alpha in-ear sensor (8.6 g) and the cosinuss° Health App, which enables continuous monitoring of pulse rate, oxygen saturation (SpO2), and body temperature. The technology has already proven itself in mountain, air, and offshore rescue operations, as well as with selected special forces (references). Francesco Marconi, Medical Doctor and Deputy Delegate XXV Alpine Delegation, will be on site to demonstrate the wide range of possible applications and discuss potential scenarios and practical uses with participants.
