Date: September 15th-19th, 2025
Language: Italian/English
Location: Modena, Italy
The 10th edition of FASiM will take place in Modena from September 15th to 19th, 2025. This international event will focus on three essential pillars of medical care for seriously injured patients: tactical medicine, en-route care, and prolonged field care (PFC) in hostile environments. Renowned experts from Italy and around the world are expected to attend, including specialists from the fields of medicine, the military, and security. We are happy to present our mobile and ultralight patient monitoring solution in presentations, workshops and practical exercises.
Medical care in high-risk and operational areas
Medical care in high-risk and operational areas is becoming increasingly important. Tactical medicine, en-route care, and prolonged field care (PFC) are key elements in ensuring the survival chances of critically injured patients in extreme situations. The five-day event is structured thematically. Participants have the opportunity to take part in a total of six lessons throughout the day. Three lessons in the morning are accompanied by two thematically related workshops. In the afternoon, there are three more lessons, also followed by two workshops. Both the learning units and the practical exercises are tailored to the theme of the respective day.
Ultralight and mobile patient monitoring
We look forward to presenting our mobile patient monitoring system to FASiM participants not only during the lessons on days 1 and 3, but also during workshops and simulations on days 3 and 4. The solution is based on the 8.6 g ultra-light c-med° alpha in-ear sensor and the cosinuss° Health mobile application. This pocket-sized monitoring technology is already in use in mountain rescue, air rescue, offshore rescue, and in various special operation scenarios (see references). We look forward to presenting our solution and discussing its potential with the participants!
More about the organizers
This year marks the 10th edition of the joint project, which originated at the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE). Today, it is supported by four renowned institutions: the Emilia-Romagna Regional Health Service with the University Hospital of Modena, UNIMORE as one of Europe’s oldest universities with medical expertise, the FASiM training center for realistic simulation training (Formazione Avanzata e Simulazione Medica), and the MODENA ICU O₂ intensive care unit, which combines clinical care and training. The Italian Army Military Academy and a central training center for special forces are also involved.
