From 9 to 11 May 2025, the next EUDIS Hackathon will take place with a focus on “Strengthening Innovation for European Defense”. Participants from all over Europe will have the opportunity to work together with industry partners on innovative solutions for critical challenges in the defense sector. cosinuss° CEO, Dr. Johannes Kreuzer, will support the challenge – “Medical Innovations” – as a mentor. We are delighted to be able to make a contribution with our medical technology expertise.
Three key challenges
The EUDIS Defense Hackathon 2025 focuses on three challenges: Rapid defense solutions for Ukraine, cost-effective protective equipment and advanced medical support on the frontline. The aim is to develop innovative, flexible hardware and software solutions that improve the protection, situational awareness and medical care of Ukrainian armed forces.
Patient monitoring in challenging environments
How can we ensure that medics and soldiers can quickly diagnose injuries and prioritize care under high pressure? This is one of the central questions addressed by the EUDIS Hackathon 2025: advanced medical support for frontline care. cosinuss° has been working on this topic for some time. Dr. Johannes Kreuzer will therefore support the hackathon as a mentor in this area. The mobile patient monitoring solution developed by cosinuss° is already being used to support medical teams in Ukraine (see references). The mobile patient monitoring system is based on the 6.5 g in-ear sensor c-med° alpha and the °Health application for mobile devices and is very well suited for use in very challenging environments due to its minimalist dimensions and weight.
More about EUDIS
The EUDIS Defence Hackathon is an initiative of the European Commission to promote innovation in the defense sector. The aim is to bring together participants from across Europe to work together on key challenges in the areas of defense, cyber security and resilience. The hackathon is funded by the EU Defense Innovation Scheme (EUDIS), an instrument of the European Defense Fund (EDF) of the European Commission. The EUDIS is designed to facilitate access to the defense sector for small and medium-sized enterprises. It lowers barriers to entry, supports the entire development cycle and promotes technological maturity and market readiness.
